Bayview Golf & Country Club is a multi-activity, family oriented country club established in 1960. Rated in SCORE'S top 100, Golf is a paramount focus and a source of great pride for the Club. While Bayview's primary offering is golf, consistent with the club's mission, the Club also offers an expanding range of sports and programs to be more inclusive and to suit the evolving needs of its family and individual members. Offering an 'ALL-IN' activity fee, Bayview supplements a member's golf experience with facilities for fitness, tennis, curling and swimming complete with a well-appointed clubhouse for the comfort of all ages and interests. Bayview also offers membership alternatives for non-golfers who are attracted to a diverse club environment and alternative activity sections or for those interested in outstanding social amenities in a private club setting. Dining options include year-round dining in The Grill Restaurant and the more casual Sports Pub with Poolside Cabana and Patio service in the summer. The view from the patio, overlooking the 10th hole in the valley, is one of the best clubhouse vistas in the city. Having completed a major clubhouse renovation in 2001, Bayview is well positioned to service the needs of members and guests for years to come.

Miller Lash House
The Miller Lash Estate is nestled in the picturesque valley of the village of Highland Creek. As legend has it, in 1913 Miller Lash, a wealthy Toronto businessman was out for a Sunday drive in his chauffeur driven Stanley Steamer. The car bounced along what is now known as Old Kingston Road, and descended the west hill into the valley of Highland Creek. Lash was so impressed by the land with its grassy fields, forest and rushing stream, that he promptly bought the property. He commissioned a firm of architects from Upper New York State, likely that of Edward B. Greene, to design his estate. The design is very much in keeping with the craftsman principals of the Arts and Crafts Movement.… Simplicity, durability, fitness for the life that is to be lived in the house and harmony with its natural surroundings.

Its transmitter is located on the CN Tower and the station can be heard down south to the New York and Pennsylvania border, and up north to Orillia. U8TV-The Lofters (television show)
U8TV: The Lofters was a Canadian reality television series, which aired on the Life Network and online through its website U8TV.com, in 2001 and 2002. The show followed the lives of eight young Canadians who lived together into a Toronto loft for a one-year period, while at the same time producing and hosting their own television programs for Life Network or other cable TV networks, and for the website U8TV.com. The loft, located in Toronto's Entertainment District near the intersection of Peter and Richmond streets, had 21 cameras filming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all rooms of the house including the bathrooms — although the bathroom camera was only broadcast if Lofters went in there to talk.T he show was unique in that it was not only a fly-on-the-wall-style reality show similar to MTV's The Real World, but was also a nightly series of talk shows and documentaries that were created and hosted by the cast members themselves. Some of the online shows or TV shows produced by the Lofters included Fuel, So Gay TV, Male Box, Spin the Bottle, Love Shack, Money Shot and House Party. The shows had regular weekly time slots and were hosted regularly by one or two Lofters, and usually centred on themes of interest to young people. |
